Opening in October 2021 to immediate accolades and success, The Salt Line Ballston has already established itself as a cornerstone of the Ballston dining scene and community. We are looking for experienced and enthusiastic hosts to join our team and be a part of the continued success for this exciting new addition to the growing The Salt Line family!  Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.Excellent phone etiquette and ability to manage multiple callsTakes accurate reservations using Open TableCalls customers to confirm reservationsAnswers the phones and relays efficient messagesGreets guests with the upmost hospitality, leads them to tables, pulls out chairs, and provides menus after everyone is seatedEnsures that tables are clean and properly set-up before seating guestsWork with management to best strategize and maximize seating of guests Makes sure that menus are clean and currentProvides prompt, attentive, professional and friendly (smile)Acknowledges guests as they leave the propertyActs as liaison between kitchen and dining roomMay operate cash registerMaintains customer wait lists and quotes accurate wait timesAttends required trainings and meetingsDelivers an exceptional experience through outstanding hospitality and food service to the guestsMaintains a clean and organized host standCommunicates immediately with management regarding any customer problem or complaint Other Duties and CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies: Continuous Learning - Seeks feedback to improve performanceJob Knowledge - Competent in using restaurant phone systems and Open Table software and restaurant table layout, etc.Use of Technology - Competently use Open Table software for seating customersProblem Solving - Identifies and resolves problems in a timely mannerCustomer Service - Responds promptly to customer needsOral Communication - Speaks clearly and professionallyEthics - Works with integrity and principlesOrganizational Support - Follows policies and proceduresSales Skills - Maintains customer satisfactionAttendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on timeDependability - Follows instructions, responds to management directionEfficient - Completes work in timely mannerSafety and Security - Observes safety and security proceduresFocus – Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy in fast-paced environment QualificationsQualificationsMust be fully vaccinated or willing to receive first vaccination after hiringEducation and/or Experience - No prior experience or trainingCertificates, Licenses, Registrations - A valid TIPS Certification recommendedPhysical Demands - While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
